Bookcases! The lorry arrived an hour late, but no prob because I’d been called with the alert-info at 08.30, the nominal delivery time. And what excitements as these beasts were brought in & assembled through the day I…

Work continues tomorrow, at 07.30 (I am told).

A most enjoyable lunch on the balcony of Blower’s Wine Bar with the Minx, probably the first balcony-dining of Blower’s season. Blower’s had a lunch table for 10 smokers reserved & were happy to have the balcony doors open. Roll on 1st. July.

… a retired gentleman walking his dog stopped to tell me how happy he was here. A former employee of BA & resident of Surrey, he has lived in Bredonborough for 11 years, and has never experienced such friendly people, he told me. And kept telling me. His friendliness had no end.

As a person from the South of England, even Dorset, I used to believe that friendliness began in Birmingham and continued northwards; this is certainly true of audiences, and mostly of people. However, as we are Brummy-commutable, Bredonborough is currently, not only the Centre of the Universe (Wimborne ceased to be in 1987 when it became part of Parkstone North) but also, the friendliest place that has been my home in England.

Acts of e-heroism continue.

19.24  E-enough.

19.56  The Minx is off to London & I am off to practice.
